1st, Rights of Children and Young Persons

Hi Class,

Please read CAD (Anonat, 2009) pp. 1-21 and answer the following:

1. Describe human rights in your own words.

2. Name at least two Rights of Children and Young Persons.  Describe ways on how you can protect that right as an educator.

3.  Find RA 9344, RA 7610, RA 7658, RA 8049, and RA 8353.  Why is it important to know these laws?

  1. 1. In my own point of view, HUMAN RIGHTS are something that are considered by our society to AUTOMATICALLY belong to everyone like the right to life, freedom, justice and equality. They are something that are INHERENT to us, human beings. Since they are inherent to us, we must at ALL COST exercise properly and protect these rights to avoid chaos so that we, as human beings shall live harmoniously in the place we live in.

    2. In her book Child and Adolescent Development, Anonat has identified FIVE (5) RIGHTS OF CHILDREN and YOUNG PERSONS such as (1) the right to life; (2) the right to a name and a nationality; (3) the right to protection from all forms of violence; (4) the right to education and (5) the right to freedom of thought. As an educator, I can protect the right to life of children by providing them with a learning environment that is conducive to their growth and development. I will see to it that my students are in a safe environment free from any form of abuse - physical, emotional, psychological and spiritual. I will also educate them to eat nutritious food so that they will grow with a healthy body, mind and soul for them to successfully surpass the challenges of education. With regard to the second right, I can protect or uphold such right by calling my students with the names they want me to call them without showing contempt to their names whatever they are. I will respect my students' culture if theirs is different from mine. For the third right, I believe that I can support that right by not introducing any punitive acts like cursing them, embarrassing them in public, throwing erasers or chalks on them, striking their hands with sticks, and letting them do something for my own benefit when they make mistakes in class. For the fourth right, it is vital that we, educators, must do our best not only in teaching these children proper knowledge, skills and attitude necessary in their quest to education but more importantly we must serve as their role models in their lives. We must see to it that all the things we teach them in school are also manifested in our words, actions and thoughts. This reminds me of my former professor when she told us that values are caught not taught. Concerning the fifth right of children, it is imperative that we must allow children to express their thoughts in a proper manner for them to feel that they are being valued. Letting them express their thoughts will let them feel that someone is willing to listen and understand them. I believe that this will have a great positive impact on their growth and development as learners because this will give them the feeling of security and the sense of being accepted.

    3. (a) RA 9344 - An Act Establishing a Comprehensive Juvenile Justice and Welfare System
    (b) RA 7610 - The Special Protection of Children Against Child Abuse
    (c) RA 7658 - An Act Prohibiting the Employment of Children Below 15 Years of Age
    (d) RA 8049 - An Act Regulating Hazing and Other Forms of Initiation Rites in Fraternities, Sororities and Other Organizations and Providing Penalties Therefore
    (e) RA 8353 - Anti-Rape Law of 1997

It is important for us to know and understand these laws not because we want to get the correct answer in the LET but because we, as educators, have the right to report to the proper authority those children and young individuals who have been victims of adults' maltreatment so that they will be given justice and that such adults' maltreatment to these children and young individuals, considered to be the hope of our nation, will come to an end.

1.) Human rights are set of rule that give us an opportunity and a privilege to enjoy our life. It was equally implemented to serve as guiding rules for every human being. I also believe this can be described as a natural and a man made law that was put into practice for every individual. It provides an utmost help in promoting and protecting our own selves.

2.) Basically, according to Ananot book of child and adolescent development, children has the privilege to enjoy the same right as what the adult have. But then because they were minors, in some ways children would need special attention and protection.

I believe there were 5 rights noted on our book, but let me choose 3 from it and apply it on what i could do soon in the future as an educator.

    A. Right to protection from all forms of violence including, sexual exploitation
Currently I’ve been hearing a lot of issue and news on how children had been harassed by an adult. As an educator i will make sure that I’ll be able to impart my knowledge to my pupil on their right as human being. Those do's and don’ts will be shared to them, letting them to have awareness on the limitation of every action. I will also try my best to be a good example to them by not doing the actions that could hurt them physically and emotionally.

    B. Right to life, the most fundamental of such right
Just like what i mention above, same with it, definitely i will make sure that my student has a good understanding on their right as a human being. They must be well cared and loved. Also I will support and build projects such as medical and feeding program that could definitely help them. Aside from that, I will make some time to talk to their parent as well, giving them an advised on what are the things that they must never forget in guiding and supporting their their child’s development. Telling them how important it is for their child to grow healthy and to have a peaceful and a happy life are very helpful. I believe, children's right can be protected well if other sectors such as their environment are cooperating as well.

    C. Right to education
Lastly, in the future as an educator, i will make sure that my student's right to education will never be compromised. I will make sure that the knowledge I give to them are right and useful. i will try my best to encourage them to study hard and to see the importance of education. I could definitely protect this right my means of protecting the quality of education. I must also continue to support law and projects which are established to promote education system in the Philippines.

    3. Everyone must be aware on the different laws that were implemented specially on our country. They say ignorance will never exempt us in liability. Same with these, as a citizen and future educator, I must be completely aware on law such as RA 9344, RA 7610, RA 7658, RA 8049 and RA 8353. If I have sufficient knowledge when it comes to those I can be guided everyday in my lesson in class and other activities. I'm saying this because in my opinion if we are guided with rules such as these, we can definitely incorporate it on our teaching. Also as an educator we have a responsibility to make sure that we were protecting people around us specially our students. We must teach them what is right and wrong. Lastly, we must impart our knowledge to them so they will never be abused by anyone in any means.

  4. Human Rights are the inalienable rights that every human being has simply because they are human beings. They were set forth in 1948 by the United Nations, in order to set a standard by which all human beings, regardless of class or nationality must be governed by. These rights cover everything from the most obvious, like The Right to Freedom and The Right to Equal Opportunity, to more specific ones such as a child’s Right to protection from all forms of violence.

Children have many rights that we, as adults, must always strive to protect. Every child has a Right to Education. As an educator, it is our solemn duty to make sure that we do all we can to provide every child with education. Living in a third world country might make this a bit tough to accomplish, but at the very least, we can report it when a child drops out of school, or go the extra mile and assist the child in whatever way we can, so that he or she may be able to continue their education. Children also have the Right to Freedom of Thought, which means that each child is free to think for themselves and express themselves in whatever way they choose. As educators, we must forever encourage our students to better themselves. An educator should never discourage and tell their students that their way of doing things is wrong or reprehensible. Instead, we must find ways to mold them and improve upon whatever talents they already possess.

RA 9344 The Act Establishing a Comprehensive Juvenile Justice and Welfare System is an act that exempts children under 18 from criminal liability; unless it can be proven that they acted with discernment when committing a crime. Instead of being sent to jail, they shall be given intervention in the form of individualized treatment or the like, in order to rehabilitate them and enhance their well-being.
RA 7610 The Special Protection of Children Against Child Abuse is an act that protects children from all sorts of abuse, including physical and sexual abuse. It initiates the creation of a program that protects children against child prostitution, child trafficking, and other sorts of abuse.
RA 7658 An Act Prohibiting the Employment of Children Below 15 Years of Age is an act that makes sure that children are allowed to be children, instead of being sent to work unfairly.
RA 8049 An Act Regulating Hazing and Other Forms of Initiation Rites in Fraternities, Sororities and Other Organizations and Providing Penalties Therefore, is an act that protects children from getting hurt, should they choose to exercise their right to join a group or organization of their choice. The act was made to counter the rising number of hazing cases reported in the recent years, causing severe, and sometimes even fatal, injuries to various individuals.
RA 8353 The Anti-Rape Law of 1997 is an act that amends and reclassifies the terms found in the previous anti-rape law.

As an educator, it is tantamount for us to know about these laws because they affect the children that we will be facing in our classes on a daily basis. It is important for us to know these laws because they can help us to protect the children in our care and make sure that they are not being taken advantage of, and in the unfortunate case that they are, we know what we can do to counteract it.

    1. Human rights are the foundation of our celebrated freedom in this world. They are not selective of individuals but instead, human rights encompass people of all walks of life. Privileges, however, only few can avail. The moment a person is conceived, he instantly has human rights which no one can hinder. On the other hand, human rights are not to be abused by anyone. Instead, the human rights we have must equip us in life to reach our full potential and for us to become assets of our community rather than liabilities.

    2. In the book of Anonat, there are several rights of the child stated and two of them are the following: RIGHT TO LIFE, which is the most fundamental of all, and RIGHT TO PROTECTION FROM ALL FORMS OF VIOLENCE INCLUDING SEXUAL EXPLOITATION. There are ways in which we can protect those rights of children and young person. First, we can be their advocates. We are expected to be their voice, channeled to the proper authority when the rights of a child are in peril. Second, we as educators must make sure that the rights of these children are observed in the learning environment. They should be free from harm such as bullying, physical abuse, etc. Third, we can educate the guardians about the rights of the children and the possible consequences if they are to be violated.

    3. (a) RA 9344 - the Act Establishing a Comprehensive Juvenile Justice System
    (b) RA 7610 - The Special Protection Of Children Against Child Abuse
    (c) RA 7658 - An Act Prohibiting the Employment of Children Below 15 Years of Age
    (d) RA 8049 - An Act Regulating Hazing and other forms of Initiation Rites in Fraternities,Sororities, and other organizations and providing penalties therefore.
    (e) RA 8353 - Anti-Rape Law of 1997

It is important to know these laws because we will be dealing with children and young persons. And as such, we are expected to stand up for them when their support system cannot. The school is considered to be the students' second home, therefore, it is necessary, that the people they will encounter inside, particularly the educators, know that these children and young persons are vulnerable beings who need guidance and protection.

  6. 1. Human rights are norms that guides and protects every human beings. These rights are the things we are allowed to do and to have for us to live peacefully. Everyone is entitled of these human rights no matter who they are and where they live simply because they are alive.

    2. In the book Child and Adolescent Development by Anonat, she enumerated five rights of children and young persons. These rights are the following:
    a. Right to life
    b. Right to a name and a nationality
    c. Right to protection from all forms of violence
    d. Right to education
    e. Right to freedom of thought
As an educator I have to see to it that every student will have their rights and will never be neglected. Their right to life can be protected by providing them an environment conducive to learning. Educate them on how to live with healthy lifestyle. I will let them feel that they are loved and taken care of. If I will be given an opportunity, I can also talk to their parents and educate their parents as well regarding the proper nutrition of their child so that they can also guide their child’s growth and development. Students should be respected for whatever their nationality is. They will be called according to their names and will never be called on whatever name they don’t want. Every child should be aware of their rights for them to be able to protect themselves also especially when it comes to violence. As an educator, I will assure that the students will not feel that they are humiliated for whatever their condition is and hurting them should be prevented. I will not let them do anything just for my own sake especially when it is beyond the limitation. Everyone of them has the right to education, they should know the importance of having a formal education. Explain to them the advantages of being educated so that they will be encouraged to study hard. I will make sure that they will learn and acquire knowledge from me that will be very useful for them. Every voice of a child should never be neglected because of their freedom of thought. They have their own intelligences. As an educator, I will responsibly listen on their concerns. By doing that, they will feel that their thoughts and ideas are respected and been accepted. Thus, their trust can also be gained.

School is the second home of every student and educators are their second parents. As an educator, we have the responsibility of taking care of our student’s rights and protecting them from any harm. By knowing these different laws, we can gain the confidence and be knowledgeable that anyone who will violate these laws are liable and should be reported on authorities.

  7. 1. Every individual or even unborn child has human rights simply because we are human. These rights cannot be taken away by anyone. This will protect us from all form of harm.

    2. Right to life and right to protection from all forms of violence are some of the rights of children.

As an educator the best thing we can do to the students is to teach their rights in a way that they will understand them. If the children knows how to fight for their rights with the support of their parents and the authority, no one will harm them and it will have positive effect to their growth and development. If no one will attempt to violate their rights everything follows: their good performance in school, their behavior, relationship to others, etc.

As a future educator, it is important to know these laws because aside to their parents, we are considered as second parents of the students, we have the power to fight for them and no one can destroy their human rights.

  8. *Human rights, are rights of every individual that cannot be taken away even by anyone. It can be used by any human from all walks of life, either rich or poor. Human rights can protect us in our daily lives since it was for us.

*Right to Education and Right to freedom of thought
As an educator, it is our duty to teach our students of what is right and what is wrong. It is better for us to teach those students in way that they can easily understand what we are trying to teach them. We should also learn to listen to them while they are saying something that are connected in our lesson. We should just not talk and talk also we should learn to listen to them.

As an educator, it is important for us to know these laws since at school teachers are the considered the second mother of a student. If we are knowledgeable about this laws we may be able to fight for the right of our students.

  9. 1. Human rights are rights that human have from the day he/she was born till the day he/she will die, which is given equally, general and universal in kind and are not absolute.

    2. Right to Survival and Right to Protection
As an educator we can protect them by educating them the different kinds of rights. Letting them know their rights will help them secure from other people which will abuse their rights as an individual. As an educator also, we can guide them the persons and authorities who can help them if someone break the laws governing such rights. And also, we can protect them by letting them feel that we're just on their back willing to help anytime and any ways we can.

    3. It's very important to know the legislative enactments for us to be aware of the laws governing our protection and our children. If we know these laws we can serve as an educator to the people who don’t have any ideas of the laws which can help them once they are a victim of people who break such laws. As they say knowledge is power, so if we have the knowledge of these laws we have the power to fight those people who abuses and maltreated other people for their own good.

    1. Human Right for me is one of the most important part of the constitution because. Human right protects every individual even child and unborn child. This is the basic right that every human should have and enjoy.

2.According to anonat there are 5 human rights... two of them are RIGHT TO LIFE and RIGHT TO EDUCATION. As an educator I can protect this RIGHT TO LIFE by simply enjoying it and let other human being enjoy it as well specially the children. If there is someone that is violating this right for everyone I will report or tell it to the authority or goverment agencies which fit for this cases. RIGHT TO EDUCATION I can help to protect and impliment this right by simply helping our goverment with there education program such as scholarships and impossing to them to make education as a priority and should have a high budget allocation for it.

    3. *RA 9344 The Act of Establishing a Comprehensive Juvenile Justice and Welfare System
*RA 7610 The Special Protection of Children Against Child Abuse
*RA 7658 An Act Prohibiting the Employment of Children Below 15 Years of Age
*RA 8049 An Act Regulating Hazing and Other Forms of Initiation Rites in Fraternities, Sororities, and Other Organizations and Providing Penalties Therefore
*RA 8353 Anti Rape Law of 1997

    >>> It is important to know this law because everyone of us once as a child and we are not aware of it, now as an adult and educator it is our obligation to inform our own child or those child that to be aware of there rights.

  11. 1. Human rights are rights of a person to live well and be treated fairly. All the rights are applicable to everyone. There will be no discrimination when it comes to the rights of a human being.

    2. The first rights of children and young persons I choose is right to life. As an educator i will tell my students the importance of eating nutritious food and having healthy body. Instead of buying junk foods, I will suggest to them to buy sandwich or rice. To those students on secondary level, when the time came and they had unwanted pregnancy I will explain to them the importance of giving birth, giving a chance for the baby to live.

The second is the right to protection from all forms of violence including, sexual exploitation. As an educator I have the right to protect my students from all forms of violence. I will teach them the importance of how to settle issues so that it won't result to physical contact. If the violence was done by the parents, I will ask the parents what was the story behind that incident. If it is not the child's fault, I will tell them that even they are the parents they don't have the right to do violence to their children. On my student's part, I will do counselling so that he/she won't be traumatized to what happen.

    3. RA 9344 - The Act Establishing a Comprehensive Juvenile Justice and Welfare System
RA 7610 - The Special Protection of Children Against Child Abuse
RA 7658 - An Act Prohibiting the Employment of Children Below 15 Years of Age
RA 8049 - An Act Regulating Hazing and other Forms of Initiation Rites in Fraternities, Sororities and other Organizations and Providing Penalties Therefore
    RA 8353 - Anti - Rape Law of 1997

It is important to know all these law, first to protect all the minors from any forms of violence, harassment and child abuse. Second to avoid everyone by doing bad things to the children. Third, if cannot avoid atleast limit especially when it comes about working of minors.

    ReplyDelete
  12. 1. All are equal. Men and women, black or white or any other color should be treated fairly. Everyone must exercise freedom of speech; the right to have a say to such laws that are made and the right to protest. Humans deserve to have everything that could develop his well-being and improve his life. These rights might be the best, are the rights to receive an education, to medical care and protection from all kinds of abuses.

    2. Right to be protected from harm. One way that teachers can do to protect children from harm is for educators must have concern in preventing bullying in school. The teachers should maintain a safe classroom environment provided with the support of the school with its discipline policy. Teachers should know how to intervene when they suspect bullying in their classroom. They really need to get involved and take away the powers to the bully but bring it back to them. Bullying must be solved in the classroom to protect the children who are victims and to discipline the bullies. Children who are bullied can grow up to violent and dangerous if nothing is done about it.

Right to Participate. The participation rights of the children are such as the right to freedom of thought and to express these thoughts and the right to be listened to. Educators should ensure that all children are given the opportunity to participate and start involving young children in planning class activities. Another way is to make sure of the full and equal participation of the children in all extra-curricular activities, such as sports, drama, and cultural activities as well as all other school activities. Also, children’s creativity shall enhance and self-expression accepted by educators.

Right to Education. In order to protect children’s right to education is to promote learning" to encourage lifelong learning, or curiosity.

    3. Republic Act No. 9344, The Act Establishing A Comprehensive Juvenile Justice and Welfare System, Republic Act No. 7610 known as the "Special Protection of Children Against Child Abuse, Exploitation and Discrimination Act."Republic Act No. 7658, An Act Prohibiting the Employment of Children Below 15 Years of Age.Republic Act No. 8049 known as An Act Regulating Hazing and Other Forms of Initiation Rites in Fraternities, Sororities, and Other Organizations and Providing Penalties Therefore.Republic Act No. 8353 known as the Anti-Rape law of 1997 "An Act Expanding the Definition of the Crime of Rape, Reclassifying the Same as a Crime Against Persons, Amending for the Purpose Act No. 3815, as amended, otherwise known as The Revised Penal Code, and for Other Purposes".

It is important to know these laws in order for us to protect the rights of the Filipino children. To be able for them to develop physically, mentally, morally, spiritually and socially in a healthy and normal manner and in conditions of freedom and dignity. Some of these laws, like RA 7610, RA 7658, RA 8049 and RA 8353, we might be able to protect children against all forms of neglect, cruelty and exploitation. All girls and boys should enjoy their childhood and we might not fail to protect them by knowing all these policies for the protection of our dear children.

  14. 1st, Rights of Children and Young Persons
Please read CAD (Anonat, 2009) pp. 1-21 and answer the following:

    1. Describe human rights in your own words.
Human rights are international law set by the United Nation Declaration which helps to protect all the people in overall abuses. This will protect people from harm which will help them to preserve their life and to have a harmonious living.

    2. Name at least two Rights of Children and Young Persons. Describe ways on how you can protect that right as an educator.
Based on the book Child and Adolescent Development by Anonat, every child and young persons should enjoy the following rights; First, the right to life which is the fundamental of each rights, second, right to have a name and a nationality, third, right to protection from all form of violence including sexual exploitation, fourth, the right to education and last but not the least, the right to freedom of thought. Based on the questions, I’m just going to choose at least two to explain. For me, I prefer to explain first the right to education wherein every child should receive formal education in order to be functionally literate and also, this is the most foundation for the future. According to the Mr. Aswini of the European University, by the means of education only one’s potential can be used to maximum extent. Education tells men how to think, how to work properly, how to make decision. I strongly agree with this that education will give us the right path to success and poverty that’s why we should know how to proper utilize it, and as an educator, I’m going to give my whole best to educate the youth, to incorporate the knowledge and wisdom to my students so they will become useful to the society. While on the other hand, the other right that I’m going to talk about would be the right to protection from all forms of violence including sexual orientation. This right means that every child and every person, whether male or female, is not to be indulged with in sexual intercourse or lasciviousness by coercion or influence whether for money, profit or any consideration. We should not use the child for any malicious and sexual exploitation in exchange of money. Prostitution and human trafficking should not be tolerated in our country that’s why we have laws that protect and safe guard not only the children but also those female who were in minor aged and being involved with prostitution. Here in our country, I’m very sad that our children and youth are being involved in such crime and our law is not being implemented properly. As an educator, the things that I can possibly do is to report every incident of prostitution and human trafficking to the police so they will penalized those who are involved in such crime and also, I am almost willing to give a workshop for the improvement of self-esteem and most especially, to conduct counseling session to those victim of rape, prostitution and human trafficking.

    3. Find RA 9344, RA 7610, RA 7658, RA 8049, and RA 8353. Why is it important to know these laws?
Republic Act 9344 known as the Act establishing a Comprehensive Juvenile Justice and Welfare System.
Republic Act 7610 known as the “The Special protection of Children Against child Abuse”.
Republic Act 7658 known as “An Act Prohibiting the Employment of Children Below 15 years of Age”.
Republic Act 7658 known as An Act Regulating Hazing and Other Forms of Initiation Rites in Fraternities, Sororities and Other Organizations and Providing Penalties Therefore.
Republic Act 8358 known as the Anti-Rape Law of 1997.
It is important for us to know these laws because these are the laws which protects and prevent the child from any inhumane and felonious act. But on top of that most especially, it empowers and strengthen the vital role of the youth in our society, that we must protect them from any danger because the youth are the future of the next generation. They are the one who will continue to develop and build up the success of our country.

  15. 1. Describe human rights in your own words.
Human right according to Anonat, (2009) are rights which are essential for us to live as human beings. Human rights is the most basic right to which a person is inherently entitled because he or she is a human being. Human rights are protection of a person against people who might want to harm or hurt them. These helps a person get along with other to live or live in peace.

    2. Name at least two Rights of Children and Young Persons. Describe ways on how you can protect that right as an educator.

    a. Right to life
    b. Right to education

As an educator, in order for me to protect the rights of children, is to let them be aware of this existing rights to help them live with peace harmony. being an educator, if have the opportunity to be in close contact with these children so i should be more aware of what is happening to them, if there is, then i could collaborate with other department and units in the government who are in-charge to help these children to bring back their rights that were taken from them.

    3. Find RA 9344, RA 7610, RA 7658, RA 8049, and RA 8353. Why is it important to know these laws?

    a. RA 9344 - An Act Establishing a Comprehensive Juvenile Justice and Welfare System
    b. RA 7610 - The Special Protection of Children Against Child Abuse
    c. RA 7658 - An Act Prohibiting the Employment of Children Below 15 Years of Age

    e. RA 8353 - Anti Rape Law of 1997 - An Act Expanding the Definitions of the Crime of Rape

It is important to know these laws because the children and young adults are the country's greatest possession because they are the people of our future who will be in-charge of building a nation. we need to know these laws so as not to deprive children of the laws they are bound to have and hence we can protect them from being harmed by other people and we can be able to support them regain these rights if these rights are taken from them.

  16. 1.) Human rights are the natural rights of a person to life and liberty. Human being has the essential right to life and not to be killed by another human being. Human rights are rights for basic needs such as food, shelter, clothing, education and job. These rights are inherent and fundamental to which a person is entitled. Human rights are the same for everyone, applicable everywhere and cannot be taken away from anyone. These should be recognized for common respect for the welfare, protection and dignity of a person. In our modern society, these substantial rights are also recognized as human rights, such as freedom from torture and slavery, freedom of speech, freedom of religion, right to a fair trial, and etc.

2.) The right to education and the right to protection from all forms of violence including, sexual exploitation are among the rights of the children and young persons. An educator can help protect these rights by making them aware of it. As UNICEF said, “educators are in the perfect position to help children learn about their rights”. Children can claim and realize their right if they understand them.

The Department of Education and schools are the country’s key institutions that can be held liable in respecting, protecting and fulfilling right to education. As an educator I can protect the right to education by giving equal opportunity and not to discriminate any child. Also by having a curriculum that is culturally appropriate and by teaching effectively so children can develop their abilities to their fullest potential.

The right to protection from all forms of violence including sexual exploitation can be protected by an educator by being observant to the behavior and activities of his students. The teacher should responsibly act if he notices his student is a victim of violence and/or sexual exploitation. Particularly, the teacher should help protect his student if the student is a victim of domestic violence and exploitation, since the parents who are the guardian of this child might be involved.

3.) It is very important to know these laws, especially for a teacher. These are the laws that give protection and promotion to the welfare of a child. Knowing these laws will empower anybody to protect a child from any form of violence and exploitation. Serious and strict implementation of these laws is necessary to punish the perpetrators and violators. As set forth in the Philippine Constitution, “the state recognizes the vital role of the youth in nation building”, with this the state also promotes and protects their well-being. With the help of concerned citizens, the state can implement the full force of these laws.

  17. 1. Human right for me is is very essential to be achieved by everyone. Human right is our right to live, be loved, be secured, be educated and not be violated. We have the right to maximized our potentials. Even animals have right, how much more us - humans. If this rights are not given to us or violated, there is conflict and hard time within ourselves and our family and friends or people around us. Human rights should be exercised and enjoyed. Sad to say, that is not the reality in our world. If we advocate that human rights should be exercised, we should not also deprived others of their rights. Example, if you have the right to smoke, we have the right also to breathe clean air. People must exercise their rights without depriving others’ rights.

  18. 2. One right of a child is to be protected from all forms of violence including sexual exploitation. As an educator, I would be very careful not to violate this right so I need to be very patient like taking care of the sick. I am glad I am a nurse who deals with sick person and exposed to stress that makes me develop more patience and tolerance. I will try to understand why the student is acting bad for he may have inner conflict with his family or his situation in life. I am glad I am a mother too that I have dealt with kids that helps me more patient and can practice of being a 2nd mother to my students. If I felt my students’ right have been violated, I could refer it to the guidance counsellor, or if sexually exploited, I could refer to the DSWD.
Another right of a child is to be educated. As an educator, I will develop and improve myself to give quality education and as much as I could to fair in giving grades. I would try also to be more accommodating to their queries and not just educate them academically but also instill
values. I will try to develop them holistically that includes being them aware that there is God that loves us very much. I would be a role model to them that even though I have finished and graduated already I have the passion to study more to share more to them.
