  1. I agree with Erik Erikson Psycho-social Theory of Development. An individual undergoes different stages of development may be it in terms of emotional or social development. As can be seen, for example with the Stage 1 of the theory of development, when a baby go to certain place where people are not familiar to her then someone will try to get her from her mom of course she will not go to that person, but when the time comes that, that person give something to her and when she is already familiar with that person, the baby will go to her when she try to get her again from her mom since the trust of the baby was developed.

Based on Erikson' psycho-social theory of development particularly in Stage 4, as I remember i joined a contest in our school wherein I got the 2nd place and my parents and teacher are proud of what I achieved and of course the praises that I get that time made me boost my self-confidence . With my social development, this contribute to me a lot because this experience made me realized that I can be successful with the things that I am doing as long as I know that there are persons that will support me all the way. Simple encouragement may lead someone to become more active and to do the task given to them successfully.

  2. 2. I agree with Erickson that each stage plays a major role in the development of personality and psychological skills of a child. Life is a series of lessons and challenges which help us to grow. Erikson's wonderful theory helps to tell us why. For instance, during the infancy stage where the basic conflict is the trust and mistrust, children develop a sense of trust when caregivers provide reliability, care, and affection. A lack of this will lead to mistrust [1]. A mother should show a tender loving care and affection to his/ her 18 month child because this is the stage where the child develops his/her emotion with the parents. Typically, If a child successfully develops trust, he or she will feel safe and secure in the world. Caregivers who are inconsistent, emotionally unavailable, or rejecting contribute to feelings of mistrust in the children they care for. Failure to develop trust will result in fear and a belief that the world is inconsistent and unpredictable [2]. Above statement is just the first part of Erickson’s stages of development.

    3. With regard to the development of my socio-emotional functioning using Erickson’s theory, let me just state the adolescence stage wherein the growth of social relationship involves. This phase states that teens need to develop a sense of self and personal identity. Success leads to an ability to stay true to yourself, while failure leads to role confusion and a weak sense of self [1][3]. As for my sexual identity, during this stage, I’ve already known and accepted the fact that my sexual orientation belongs to the 3rd sex of new generation. Discovering it early didn’t lead me to confusion because I became true to myself. With this, I developed more my talent and will still continue to polish what I have started so it would increase more my confidence despite of my sexual identity.

  3. 2. Yes, I agree with Erickson's Theory. I remember that during high school this had been taught to me by my religion teacher. i was glad to know this theory since I've seen the relation of it to my current development, aside from that I can even see how true it is specially to my niece whose currently 9mos old. I'm applying the technique as well so she could have a better stages of development soon. As of now, I know that my mom was able to build my trust not just to my family but also to myself. as a product of it, I have determination that help me identify myself. Also I've been motivated by his theory since he has all the stages that apply until old age.

    3. In my opinion, all of Erickson's stages are related to Socio-emotional functioning, little by little it build how we interact to different person on an intimate or even just friendly gesture. However, I think the one that was really into it is Stage 5 and 6. As we could see the identity is build on stage 5 and intimacy vs isolation is on stage 6. Failure to this might be a barrier in helping us build a better community. We would be having a hard time to build a relationship with other if were not confident enough on our identity.

  4. 2. I love Erik Erikson a lot since I was in college. I must say he's one of my favorite theorists with Abraham Maslow. His Psycho-Social Theory of Development is often used to assess the psycho-social development of an individual and I have to say we always utilized his theory as part of our assessment especially among patients with pyschiatric disorders. I am in agreement with his theory because I believe him when he emphasized how relationship with others influences one's search for his/her identity and that in every stage of development, there is an intended psychosocial task that one has to achieve and failure to achieve such task will lead to poor relationship and ultimately despair in later development. Erikson's theory is really applicable to all people. We can all agree that our first psychosocial task to develop is trust and if we fail to establish this during infancy, we will not have a good relationship with our environment as we grow resulting to despair when we become old. But if we are able to develop a sense of trust to our environment and we are all able to master every task for each stage of our development, for sure we will be able to live a happy and contented life with sense of integrity.

    3. I think I am on the stage 6 of Erikson's Theory of Psychosocial Development. I am confident that I have learned to master all the developmental tasks before this stage. Right now, my energy is focused on establishing a sense of intimacy (not really of sexual intimacy) among my colleagues, students and friends. Though I do not have a loved one, I don't feel isolated because I know I have my friends and my family to rely on. But I am hoping that one day, I will be able to meet my loved one who will be with me for the rest of my life creating and sharing memories together.

  5. 2. I agree with Erickson’s Psycho-social Theory of Development. I became very familiar with that theory when I was in college because it is commonly used. Erickson provided a good insight on what can be the problems and struggles that will happen during the different stages from birth until old age when it comes to socio-emotional development of an individual. He has given the developmental tasks that a person should overcome and the struggles that he is facing during that certain stage. It is very important that, from the time of birth, the trust of a child must be already developed so that he will have a good relationship with others and through the influence of other people, he won’t struggle in determining his identity. By knowing the theory of Erickson we can also determine what developmental tasks we already have.
    3. Based on the Erickson’s Psycho-social Theory of Development, I am on the stage 6. There is now a need to establish intimacy. I am glad that I have a good relationship with other people but still I am finding that another person whom I can have a close psychosocial relationship with. But still I don’t have that feeling of isolation.

  6. 2. I agree with Erickson’s stages of psycho-social development. I believe that an individual is confronting opposing forces at every stage and what he/she acquires is a certain ratio between the conflicting forces. An individual needs to reconcile these forces, a sensible balance of negative and positive disposition at each crisis stage to acquire virtues and develop a healthy personality and successful interactions with others. I believe in Erickson that one’s personality develops in a series of stages and is developing throughout the lifetime.

    3. Using Erickson’s theory, I can recall personal experiences/challenges that are consistent with his stage 4 to stage 7 psycho-social theory of development. To cite example, in Stage 4 Industry versus Inferiority, during my elementary school years, I received enough encouragement from my teachers and parents that enabled me to excel in school and helped me developed my self-esteem. My teacher frequently assigned me in charge of the collection of payment and distribution of “nutri-ban” to the whole school which I think made me gain ability and competence. Also during this stage my parents sometimes entrusted me to oversee our store which gave me a sense of accomplishment and developed my self-confidence. I made mistakes but I believed it helped balance competence and modesty. I am confident I acquired the basic virtues with the success from each stage up to my current stage which I recognize to be Stage 7, Generativity versus Stagnation. I have developed intimate, comfortable, secure and committed relationships with people important to me. I am still focused on my relationships with family, friends and colleagues but I am also now concerned with giving back to society; being productive and becoming involved in community.

  7. 2. Yes, I agree with Erickson's Psychosocial Theory of Development. Each stages of development correspond to the development of individuals. They are intercorrelated to each other, most common if a child develop negative(mistrust) from the start and cannot cope with it, it may lead all throughout with negative(shame and doubt, guilt, inferiority, role confusion, isolation, stagnation and despair). On the other hand, if a child develop positive(trust) it may lead all the way to positive.

    3. Based on Erickson's psycho-social theory of development, the stage that really affect my socio-emotional is the school age (6 to 11) Industry VS Inferiority. I always remember that during my elementary, grade 1 section 1 but from grade 2 up to grade 6 I'm in the last section. I would say that during my elementary I have very very low self-esteem, which is on the side of inferiority, because my school performance is not good and someone said that I'm schooling without knowing. I studied at public school i our classroom we are 40-50 students, you are lucky if you get 2 to 3 books and some of our teacher do not discuss because they're reason is that they have salary even they did not do there task/job.
But that inferiority I was able to cope with it when I was in grade 6, we buy all the books that I need for that school year. As much as possible I try my best to study hard. My grades are much better than before. I start to gain my self-confidence and boost my self-esteem. In the end of the school year, even in our classroom only I'm in the top 3.

  8. I agree with Erikson's Psychosocial Theory because I think it is one of the most comprehensive theories on a person's socio-emotional development. No man is an island, and I have always liked the way this theory takes the influence of the society on a person's development into account. I am the eldest in my family and my parents'first baby so my mother was extremely focused on me, so I was able to develop a good bond with her. She used to say that you could buy my smiles for five cents because I was a very amiable baby. My mother and father spent a lot of time with me so I was able to build a good bond with them and learned the concept of trust.

  9. 2. I agree to Erickson’s Psycho-social Theory of Development because it shows the conscious sense of self that we develop through social interaction. Social interaction is very important because children begin to establish their self esteem, sharing, cooperating, and respect to others property. And according to Erikson our ego identity is constantly changing due to new experiences and information we acquire in our daily interactions with others and a sense of competence motivates behaviors and actions. Each stage in Erikson's theory is concerned with becoming competent in an area of life. If the stage is handled well, the person will feel a sense of mastery, which is sometimes referred to as ego strength or ego quality. If the stage is managed poorly, the person will emerge with a sense of inadequacy.
    3. When I am in college I experienced the identity vs role confusion. On my last year in high school I still didn't know what course I will take in college. And since my sister is an accountant I took her course also because we all know that accountant is really in demand. After a year I shifted to another course which is Banking and Finance because of the policy of the school that I didn’t met. During that time I can say that I still don’t know yet what I want to be. But after graduation and when I worked in different companies and experience teach me lessons of life I can say now that I’ve grown up to be a better person that knows who am I and what I want to be.

  10. 2. I strongly believe on Erik Erikson’s Psycho-social Development Theory. Erikson’s theory believed that personality develops in series of stages and describes the impact of social experiences across the whole life span. Each stage in life presents its own excitements and challenges and which we faced throughout our lives. This theory made me realized that people definitely went through from these stages. The very first stage, from a baby hoping somebody to trust until becoming an elderly full of wisdom or had a tendency toward despair at the end of life. I completely understand and made me think if I established integrity at this stage of my life and be able to maintain it until the last stage of this psycho-social development. Likewise, to set more goals and achieve it until it’s too late and be satisfied for what I have been in life.
    3. I can say that I am in the Intimacy stage which my life evolves for my family, with my husband, children, parents, and also with friends. At this stage, I am committed with the man I trust more than any other person who is my husband. Also, I believe that my partner and I found each other whose chief objective is raising our children that Almighty gave to us. Likewise, my responsibilities focus more on parenthood, taking care of my children and helping them achieve their own development as well.

  11. 1. Erik Erickson’s Psychosocial Development attempts to explain changes that occur in social relationship and self-understanding. This has provided foundation for describing the role that adolescence plays in a person’s life. Therefore I agree with his theory.

    2. From Erik Erickson’s Psychosocial Development, Industry vs. Inferiority or Stage 4 - Rules take center stage during this part of an adolescent’s life

As teachers, rules are very important because this becomes the center during the part of the adolescent’s life that is why teachers must be clear and fair in the rule that they make or set for the students because it is something that the students come to respect. If a teacher is not clear and fair regarding their rules, students may have a negative image on what rules are.

Teachers should give student with plenty of opportunities to succeed in a challenging environment because at this time it is where success takes place as a major role in a student’s life.

As to this theory, stage 4 was applicable to me as I remembered that during this years particularly when I was in grade 4, I was so eager to volunteer myself to the different activites but I was not given recognition during that time and since I was the smallest in class, some of my classmates are bully and the teacher accept their explanation when they bully me so I develop some inferiority or build up that attitude because of that.

    2. I agree with Erick Erickson on his stages of Psychosocial Development because I have observe it with my son, students, people around me including myself. Erickson’s stages really describes what happens from the baby to adulthood how we feel, we like, what bothers us, what we’ve become in our different stages due to our experiences in our life.
    3. The stage that I could associate in my life is Identity versus Role Diffusion. When I am in this stage I, thought I was not nice or pretty that I have limited interaction with the opposite sex and just maintain few friends. Because I came from my dad’s province to my mom’s province, everytime I dressed up nice and wear shoes sometimes my classmates look at me that I am not suited in the public school. Or they just made me feel that I do not belong that is why I joined contests like spelling bee, story telling and be active in sports like playing volleyball. Until finally one of the by standers when we are having a parade said to me, you know you are pretty but you always fro. Just a tip you smile and let your beauty be recognized and you feel good. Which I followed and become more comfortable on what I feel about myself

  14. I totally agree on Erick Ericksons theory on psychosocial development, the age and stage is generally true for many. As to intimacy and isolation stage where in most of us are into, we definitely feel this emotion because we are very much attach to our emotion and often time experience it through the environment we have and relationship we have such us work, family or even in love life aspects. at this stage we are often faces dilema and decision where in we have to stand on it bse on our previous stage of life and n such a way our identity is firm to come on to decision which we think is good for us.
